Monday afternoon, Rainelle students who were absent 3 or less days were invited to an afternoon dance party deejayed by Mrs. Simms. Students loved the newer hits as well as some classics such as the “Cha Cha Slide” and the “Macarena.”
Students in Mrs. Warnick’s fourth grade at Rainelle had a fun filled day learning about The Great American Melting Pot and Johnny Appleseed. Activities included an “apple tower” STEM activity and making homemade applesauce.

Lt. C.R. Smith and his partner Capt. Thelma Lou from the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department visited students at Rainelle Elementary today. Students enjoyed meeting the officers and the demonstration of Thelma's sniffing abilities, but mostly they enjoyed playing fetch with her as a reward for all her hard work!

The continuation of Greenbrier County's school levy is on the Nov. 8 election ballot, and early voting at the Courthouse and Rupert Community Center is open now through November 5. The levy, which has been in place since 1974, funds school security (including police officers in all schools); art and music programs; instructional supplies and allotments; capital improvements, facility maintenance and repairs; and personnel outside the school aid formula and maintain employee benefits. Forty-four WV counties have school levies in place. With the approval of a 60% levy, Greenbrier County will rank 36th among those counties in taxpayer contribution to education. Rainelle's Kindergarten classes had so much fun at the Oke's Farm on Thursday!
Rainelle's Pre School students got to meet some of our local Volunteer Fire Department members and learn about fire safety for Fire Prevention Week (October 9th - 15th).
Rainelle's partner in safety and security, Ofc. Freeman, visited Ms. Steph's Pre-K classroom. Students drew "Thank You" pictures for his presence and work around our school.
