Second graders at Rainelle Elementary had a blast exploring contractions through a fun, interactive game! Students searched the room to find the partner who completed their word—turning reading practice into an exciting challenge. Learning really clicked as they worked together, held up their words, and made reading truly hands-on.
When learning is active and engaging, those skills stick!

Students in Ms. Riley's Pre K class experienced firsthand the level of trust required between guide dogs and the people they support. Working in pairs, one student guided their partner—without using any words—while their partner navigated the space with modified glasses that limited their vision.
This meaningful activity helped build empathy, communication skills, and a deeper appreciation for the incredible work of guide dogs and the bond they share with their humans. 💛

During morning drop-off, our Principal, Ms. Chapman, and Title I teacher, Ms. Adkins, greeted students with smiles and uplifting messages, holding signs that inspired everyone to do their very best on upcoming summative assessments. 📚✨
Their presence set the tone for a confident and focused day, reminding students that they are supported, capable, and ready to succeed. It’s moments like these that show the heart of our school community—working together to lift up every learner. 💛
We’re cheering on all of our students as they show what they know. You’ve got this! 💪

Greenbrier County Schools received a 5-day waiver from the WVDE for days missed to winter weather.
Therefore, there will be no makeup days unless there are circumstances that would warrant closing schools from now to the end of the school year.
Our little learners loved taking part in the dress-up days and getting creative with fun crafts inspired by the stories they read. It was a wonderful week filled with imagination, laughter, and a growing love for books!
We are so proud of our Pre-K students for making Read Across America Week such a fun and memorable celebration!

It may be a little hard to Read With Our Eyes Shut! -BUT- It's easy for Mrs. Vaughan's second grade to find their favorite Dr. Seuss book.
They are enjoying Read Across America Week and all the school-wide activities!

We’re celebrating the creativity and imagination our students bring to the world every day. This year’s theme — “The World Needs Art” — is the perfect reminder of how much their ideas, colors, and stories matter.
A sincere thank‑you to the citizens of Greenbrier County for supporting the arts in our schools through the school levy. Your support makes these opportunities possible.
