3-Hour Early Relese Monday, April 8 for Solar Eclipse

Greenbrier County Schools is preparing for the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. Most of WV will experience a partial solar eclipse where the moon will cover 91% of the sun (eclipsed). While this is an exciting phenomenon, we want to ensure our students, staff, and school community stay safe during this historic event. On the morning of April 8, students will learn about the eclipse and receive eclipse glasses to take home. Students will be dismissed from school 3 hours early that day to be delivered home before the eclipse occurs. Elementary after-school programs are canceled for Monday. Secondary extracurricular activities will begin after 4 p.m. that day.

Additionally, the 2-hour early release initially scheduled for April 25 is canceled.
